Transformation has always been part of my story.
The story behind Dragonfly Wealth Advisory begins long before I became a financial advisor.
I was raised in Russia by a single mother who believed deeply in the power of education. We did not have unlimited resources, but she was determined to create opportunities for me that she never had herself. She worked tirelessly, often sacrificing her own needs, to ensure I received the best education possible.
One of the greatest gifts my mother gave me was a love of learning and the belief that education could change the course of a life. She understood that learning English could open doors far beyond our small corner of the world and create opportunities neither of us could fully imagine. Despite limited resources, she found a way to provide me with private English lessons because she believed deeply in investing in my future.
When our family could no longer afford those lessons, I was not ready to give up. Instead, I began teaching English to younger children and used the money I earned to continue paying for my own lessons.
After graduating from college, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life and moved to the United States. Like many immigrants, I arrived with an education, a strong work ethic, and a belief that opportunity exists for those willing to work for it. Starting over in a new country came with uncertainty, but it also came with possibility.
Over time, I built a career in wealth management, earned professional designations, and had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals and families navigate important financial decisions.
Holistic Planning
Along the way, I discovered that the most meaningful conversations with clients were rarely about investments. They were about people.
A parent wondering whether they could afford to send their child to the school that would help them thrive. A family caring for aging parents while planning for their own retirement. A widow navigating a future she never expected to face alone. A business owner preparing to transition a lifetime of work into financial security for the next chapter.
True financial planning begins with understanding what matters most to a person and the people they care about. Investments are important, but they are only one piece of a much larger picture. Tax planning, retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, charitable giving, education funding, family dynamics, business succession, and legacy planning all play a role in helping families build the future they envision.
Every financial decision affects another part of a person’s life. The most effective planning happens when those pieces work together in support of a common purpose.
